Many writers, content creators, students, and approximately every person has to write something or the other during a day. Be it an article, an exam paper, college English notes, text messages or content script, we all take part in writing on a daily basis. This is primarily where the skills of speed writing comes into play.
However, when it comes to children they are still present at an early stage of development and need special attention to work on their writing speed. In schools, teachers just focus on basic writing skills and not the speed. The teachers go by the standard speed of the class. If a student is slow, they would surely try to make him or her faster but only up to a limited level as per the class.
So if you want your students or children to develop effective speed writing skills, then here are some of the tips to teach kid to write quickly:-
- Technique: Technique is the most important aspect to teach kid to write quickly. The way the kid holds the writing tool, the way he or she moves his hands and the number of fingers he or she uses to hold the writing tool all affect the writing speed. Parents and teachers should teach kids the correct technique of writing.
- Daily Practice: If the kid does daily practice, his or her body will adapt to the writing routine resulting in prolong writing sessions.
- Setting Goals: Parents or teachers can set goals for the kids. Like writing one paragraph in 20 minutes in the beginning and then gradually reducing the amount to time to 15 minutes or 10 minutes. This will significantly improve the writing speed of the child.
- In order to teach kid to write quickly, first teach him or her, the right posture to sit. A right posture will exert less stress on the hands resulting in an increase in the overall writing speed.
- Games can also be an excellent way to increase the writing speed of a child. Interactive games will also help in the wholesome development of the child involving coordinate system, use of senses, developing new ways to tackle a problem. Just make sure the games are innovative and make the child think out of the box. If the thought process is clear then it automatically transpires into faster writing speed.
