One of the by-products of the meticulous research that goes on in the WhoWhatWearDaily office is that we see spot great mini-bites of celebrity style. We’ve complied some of these assorted great fashion looks and micro trends for your viewing pleasure in this edition of WWWD Tips.
- Remember Your Chandeliers
Don’t let the rest of your jewelry get overlooked just because there’s lots of statement necklace hype. Chloe Sevigny showed her ears some love by adorning them with a pair of cascading chandelier earrings. If you don’t have a pair tucked away, Banana Republic is always a reliable source to shop. Check out their Diamante Chandelier Earrings ($52) for similar sparkle.
- A Clutch Isn’t Just For Night
As we showed you recently in Style Stalker: Mary Kate, it looks fresh when one uses a bag typically associated with evening during the day. On that note, we’re big fans of the season’s many oversized clutches and enjoy seeing stars like Lindsay Lohan using them during the day. We might be crazy, but it looks like Lohan’s carrying the Urban Oufitters Croco Large Clutch in Plum ($38) we mentioned in WWSW: Chloe Sevigny, right?
- Try Tights With Open Toes
Are you reluctant to swap some of your favorite sandals for closed-toe shoes? We are too, which is why it’s good to take a little inspiration from Helena Christensen and remember that you just need a pair of tights to prolong your warm weather footwear. Look to the Burberry and Balenciaga Fall 07 shows for guidance, where substantial (not dainty) sandals were shown with both black and bright tights. Pair this with some old school Oakley sunglasses for a boho chic twist!
- Switch A Cardigan For A Blazer
Now, we love our cardigans just as much as the next girl, but it just so happens that the season’s shrunken blazer is a perfect substitute. As seen on Diane Kruger, above, it’s particularly fantastic when worn over a feminine dress, as it ads just a touch of masculine tailoring for a perfectly balanced silhouette. For a similar look, try 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Shrunken Box Jacket ($570) or J. Crew’s Wool Hacking Jacket ($235).
